Courtney Porter was crowned Miss Alabama 2011 in ceremonies Saturday Jun 11 in Wright Center at Samford University in Birmingham. The Beauty Queen from Clay, Alabama will represent her state at the Miss America 2012 pageant in Las Vegas.
Courtney Porter is a 2009 graduate of Auburn University, where she majored in communication. She was graduated from Clay Chalkville High School in 2005.
Courtney, 24, tap danced as her talent, offering her rendition of “I’ve Got Rhythm.” And her platform is “Boys & Girls Clubs of America.”

Three Miss Alabamas have gone on to be crowned Miss America. They are:
* Miss America 1950 Yolande Betbeze;
* Miss America 1995 Heather Whitestone; and
* Miss America 2005 Deidre Downs.
Miss Alabama 2010 Ashley Davis was a preliminary swimsuit winner at the Miss America 2011 pageant.
